Imagery Based Emotion Regulation
For People With Bipolar Disorder
Our research team has developed a new short term psychological intervention called Imagery Based Emotion Regulation, which is aimed at improving anxiety and mood stability. The trial will examine this new approach and measure its effectiveness.
About
Berkshire Healthcare Foundation Trust and Devon Partnership NHS Trust are doing a study to test whether a psychological therapy, called Imagery Based Emotion Regulation, can help with the symptoms of anxiety within people with Bipolar Disorder.
Imagery Based Emotion Regulation is a form of talking therapy. It is part of a range of talking therapies that are often called Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, or CBT. It is aimed at reducing the symptoms of anxiety, and to help with mood stability.
Recent research suggests that most people diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder may also suffer from anxiety, but they rarely get assessed, diagnosed or treated for this part of their mental health.
